My child is anemic: a recipe?
If you have anemia or if someone around you is anemic, sardines are for you; because what could be better than freshly caught sardines to improve your iron stock?
But if your child for example refuses to eat sardines (like my 3 old years daughter), here is a clever recipe to get around this: Sardines meatballs !

Recipe for anemic people: Sardine meatballs with vegetables Tajine
Sardines, lemon, garlic, coriander, parsley, extra virgin olive oil |
- 1kg of sardines cleaned (flaked, emptied and headless, which will ultimately give about 700 g of sardine meat).
- 4 garlic cloves.
- 4 tablespoons chopped cilantro and parsley.
- 1 squeezed lemon.
- 5 tablespoons olive oil.
- 1/2 tsp salt.
- 1/2 tsp pepper.
- 1 tsp paprika.
- 1 tsp cumin.
- 1 tsp turmeric.
- 2 potatoes cut into rings.
- 2 carrots cut in length.
- 1 tomato cut into rings.

Preparation:
1. Chop the sardines until you have minced meat.

Mix of condiments + garlic + lemon juice + olive oil |
3. Divide the mixture between two equal parts.
4. Mix one with the ground meat; and spread the other over the vegetables.
5. Make sardines meatballs.

9. Serve hot, ideally in a beautiful porcelain tagine.

Enjoy your meal!
PS: Traditionally, the tagine (the dish) is simmered in the tagine (this porcelain dish) and not in a pot. The latter is therefore not only used for serving.
